Right, well done for finding this blog in its new little home. The new bulletin design hopefully let’s you see the news headlines more immediately. Don’t forget the pictures above labelled CILT Supply Chain; CILT Passenger Transport etc are not just decoration but buttons leading you to loads more news from your sector.
A couple of weeks ago I flagged up the members’ survey we will be conducting, that will feed into the Government Spending Review. The big news is that the survey will be launched next week. CILT is contributing to the Comprehensive Spending Review process and the survey results will assist the Transport Secretary in his task - and the intention is also that it will help influence decisions made by the devolved administrations.
Basically we all have a sneaky suspicion we could run the UK’s transport network really well if we just put our mind to it. If only there were enough hours in the day…
This survey is your chance to get power. We can’t give you a big Jag and burly security guys; but we can give you a say in how our transport infrastructure shapes up in the tricky times to come.
We’ll be asking you where you’d spend the Government’s cash; and where you would swing the axe. What would the future look like for passenger transport and logistics if you were the boss?
The questionnaire will take about ten minutes of your time and topics will range from fuel duty to HS2; from bus lanes to carbon reduction, and from active travel to new motorways. Plenty to get your teeth into.
You’ll receive the survey through your email, so keep your eyes peeled and we’d appreciate your speedy response. If I’ve whetted your appetite it would be great if you spread the word to fellow members. The bigger the response, the more weight it carries.
Next week’s CAB will also carry a link through to the survey. Good luck in your new ministerial post!
