Advanced Diploma or MSc distance learning

Has anyone recently embarked on or completed the CILT Advanced Diploma or a distance MSc in Supply Chain Management? How much time do you need to set aside and what support is available? Any other advice?

RE: Advanced Diploma or MSc distance learning

Hi Ben

I have just started on the MSC International Logistics and Supply Chain Management online course through the University of Glamorgan business school. The course indicates that you need to allocate about 20hrs a week to it and I would say that looks like it will be right. The online support and delivery is excellent and would definitely recommend it from what I have seen so far.

I have just commenced my second year on the MSC. Depending on your work commitments(if you are working) it's achievable but challenging.

RE: Advanced Diploma or MSc distance learning

I did the Adv Dip first as I hadn't done any serious study before and it lead me into the BSc nicely, both as distance learning. I'm glad I did the Adv Dip first as the workload is lighter, obviously, and you'll be less likely to give in if you can't manage to dedicate enough time to it. The time depends totally on your ability to study, some on my course were able to do an essay in a few hours, I took considerably longer in the beginning as I did too much research.

Not knowing your circumstances I can only tell you what worked for me.

Have a look at the open university they do a really good job of understanding what your requirements are and have been doing it for years. The best advise is be realistic in your time available
